Photo Agency Sues Twitter for $228.9 Million Over Copyright Infringement

Photo agency Backgrid and ten anonymous defendants have sued Twitter for allegedly failing to remove more than 1,500 photos of celebrities that belong to them and were illegally posted by users on the platform. In addition, Backgrid claims that some Twitter users continuously posted their images but that the social media platform has also failed to suspend accounts under its "repeat infringer" policy.

Getty Images is suing the creators of AI art tool Stable Diffusion for scraping its content

Getty Images is suing Stability AI, the developer of the popular AI art program Stable Diffusion, for alleged copyright infringement. According to a press release, the stock photo agency believes Stability AI had "unlawfully copied and processed millions of copyrighted images" to train its software and that Getty Images had "commenced legal proceedings in the High Court of Justice in London" against the company.

London is getting a giant new photography gallery

The three-story center for British photography will open its doors in London at the end of January. The Centre for British Photography will be located on Jermyn Street in Mayfair and will span three floors with 8000 square feet of exhibition space.
